Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions regarding your stay with us at the caravan park and/or camp site:

  • We reserve the right to ask guests to leave if they are not abiding by our terms and conditions, or if behaviour is deemed unacceptable. No refund will be given. Guests may also be responsible for any costs incurred as a result of their behaviour whilst staying with us.

  • We ask for a non-refundable deposit payable at the time of booking for caravan park pitches, and full payment (also non-refundable) at the time of booking for tent pitches.

  • We are a quiet site, set in the beautiful Brecon Beacons, and therefore we don’t accept large, noisy groups or bookings from hen and stag parties.

  • We ask that guests respect our ‘Quiet Time’ between 10pm and 8am, and are respectful to other guests and staff at all times. We reserve the right to ask guests to leave if any of their party is found not to be adhering to this request, and no refund will be given.

  • We aim to resolve any issues or complaints whilst guests are with us. Complaints not brought to our attention during a guest’s stay cannot be dealt with once they have left the site.

  • We reserve the right to accept or refuse bookings at our discretion.

  • Bookings should only be made by those over 18 years of age, although we welcome those who are 16+ as guests. DofE groups should email caravans@showcaves.co.uk for advice if younger students need to book their group visits independently.

  • Guests should check their booking confirmation to ensure all details are correct and contact us immediately at caravans@showcaves.co.uk if something needs to be altered. This includes changes in vehicle registration, email address, or contact details. Failure to notify us could mean that we may not be able to amend the booking successfully. Guests should retain a copy of their booking and payment confirmation.

  • Amendments to pitch bookings can be made up to 2 weeks prior to arrival – guests should email caravans@showcaves.co.uk as soon as possible. Whilst we will do our best to accommodate changes, these are subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to make amendments.

  • Cancelled bookings will not be refunded.

  • If balance of payment for booking is overdue and not settled within 48 hours of the overdue email being sent, the booking will be cancelled, and any monies paid will not be refunded.

  • ‘No Shows’ (guests who do not arrive when booked in) will be considered as cancellations the day after the expected arrival if no communication has been received as explanation. No refund will be given and the pitch will become available to other guests.

  • Responsibility for obtaining appropriate insurance lies with the guest. Ideally this should include but not be limited to illness, cancellation, damage, loss to property, and injuries during their stay.

  • We reserve the right to periodically review and change our prices. The cost of a holiday will be confirmed at the time of booking.

  • No pets are permitted inside the facilities.

  • BBQs and fire pits are permitted on site as long as they are raised up and don’t scorch the ground underneath. Campfires are NOT permitted anywhere on site as the site is surrounded by forest.

  • Guests are asked to ensure that all occupants of their caravan, tent or other accommodation are familiar with the location of the fire points on site, and what to do in an emergency.

  • For everyone’s safety, we ask guests to follow the speed restrictions (5mph) on site.

  • No smoking is permitted inside the facilities block.

  • No A/C units or generators are permitted on site.

  • No fireworks, Chinese lanterns or candles, or balloons are permitted on site.

  • No business or trade is permitted to take place on site.

  • Drone footage is not permitted on site without specific permission of the owner of the site.

  • The consumption of alcohol should be limited to a guest’s personal pitch space and not the rest of the site. We are a quiet site, and allow only ‘low-key’ social drinking. Any guests not adhering to this protocol, or those causing nuisance or noise will be asked to leave the site immediately, and no refund will be given.

  • The use of illegal substances is prohibited on site.

  • Bicycles and push-scooters are permitted on site, but must not be used on the gravel surfaces, and the use of them is not permitted on or near the caravan/motorhome pitches.

  •  The use of petrol or electric scooters is not permitted on site.

  • No persons on the ViSOR database are permitted on site.

  • Recycling is a legal requirement now, and so we ask guests to adhere to the rules regarding food waste, cardboard and paper, glass, and plastics/tins. There are designated bins for this purpose near the facilities block. Larger items (e.g. awnings, inflatable mattresses, folding chairs etc.) cannot be disposed of with us.

  • Standard Wi-Fi is free of charge, but can only be found in limited areas due to the mountainous region.

  • Dogs are welcome – 2 maximum per pitch, and only friendly, family pets are permitted to stay on site. They must be kept on a short lead at all times whilst on site, and be kept quiet. They should not be left unattended at any time. Guests should dispose of their dogs’ waste correctly, and not leave it for others! We reserve the right to ask guests to leave if these protocols are not followed or if their dog is being a nuisance to staff or other guests. Owners with aggressive dogs will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be given.

  • Guests are asked to note that there is a river running through the top part of the site, and to keep their distance from it, and the steep bank.

  • Our facilities are closed for cleaning for a short while each day – guests are asked to take care if the floors are wet.

  • Electric vehicles cannot be charged on site – the nearest EV charging points can be found at Craig-y-Nos Country Park in their car park.

  • Photographs – occasionally we may take photographs or shoot videos for promotional and marketing purposes. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are agreeing to let us use them. If you do not wish them to be used, then please let the photographer know on the day.

  • Rallies – to qualify for the discounted rally rate, 6 or more pitches must be filled for the duration of the meet, with 1 marshal’s pitch free of charge if 10 or more pitches are filled. If the number of pitches falls below 6, the pitch price will not be discounted, and guests must pay the full price per night.

Touring Pitches:

  • Our touring pitches are available from 10.00am on the day of arrival. We ask guests to leave by 1.00pm on the day of departure. Guests should speak to the warden if they require a later departure time. Late arrivals after 9pm are permitted, but we ask guests to be considerate of others who could be sleeping.

  • Bookings made with us require a non-refundable deposit taken at the time of booking. Third party bookings – please refer to the terms and conditions of these third parties for details of their cancellation and refund policies.

  • Cancelled bookings will not be refunded.

  • ‘No Shows’ (guests who do not arrive when booked in) will be considered as cancellations the day after the expected arrival if no communication has been received as explanation. No refund will be given and the pitch will become available to other guests.

  • Bookings can be amended up to 2 weeks prior to arrival, subject to availability.

  • If guests cancel or cut short their holiday due to events beyond our control they will not be refunded. These include but are not limited to adverse weather, outbreak of serious disease/epidemic/pandemic, natural disasters e.g. flooding, earthquakes etc., riots, civil unrest, warfare/terrorism, fire, nuclear disaster or technical problems with transport. In such circumstances we are unable to take responsibility, refund payment or pay compensation.

  • If guests decide to cancel or cut short their holiday for any reason, no refunds will be received.

  • We reserve the right to cancel or amend a guest booking if we deem it necessary to perform or complete essential or emergency maintenance works, or for other unforeseen reasons beyond our control. If such an event occurs, we will do our best to offer a suitable alternative booking, subject to availability.

  • School holiday dates are set by local councils, and we cannot be held responsible for any changes. Guest bookings are made at their own risk and deposits are non-refundable.

  • All touring pitches are hard-standing and are fully serviced.

  • Guests should select their pitch on arrival.

  • Touring pitches are for maximum of 6 people and 1 vehicle only. Extra vehicles can be parked at the warden’s discretion. Vehicles must not be parked on the grass. We reserve the right to refuse a guest’s stay if more than the maximum number of guests arrive. No refund will be given for any expenses incurred for alternative accommodation having to be sought.

  • Awnings are free of charge – there is space for one awning per pitch. Only rock pegs should be used to secure awnings. The use of awnings and ‘pup tents’ should be for storage only – should guests wish to sleep in them they will be charged additional tenting rates.

  • We recommend using a wheel clamp and a hitch lock for touring caravans for security.

  • Rallies – to qualify for the discounted rally rate, 6 or more pitches must be filled for the duration of the meet, with 1 marshal’s pitch free of charge if 10 or more pitches are filled. • Our tent pitches are all grass, and there are fresh water points dotted around the site. Electric hook-ups for tents are limited and only available on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis and cannot be guaranteed or booked in advance. Payment for EHU for tent pitches must be made to the warden when on site. A 240V outdoor 3-pin ‘blue’ plug will be needed for our electric-hook-up points. These hook-ups are NOT for charging EV cars.

  • Guests should select their pitch on arrival.

  • We reserve the right to ask guests to relocate their tent pitches if they are staying longer than 7 days so that the grass does not die off underneath, or if more efficient use of space is required.

  • Vehicles should not be parked on the grass. Guests are asked to use the designated car parking areas and not park next to their tents. Any guest not adhering to this policy will be asked to move their vehicle, or be asked to leave with no refund given.
